Our Bitches

All of our bitches live as house dogs, either at Bertschire or in other homes.  We include them on this page when they are active bitches in our breeding program.

CH Bertschire House On Fire - "Flame" has a stunning feminine headpiece with a great topline, forechest, bone and lovely movement from all directions.  She is extremely sweet in personality, reminding us very much of her great-grandmother, Ellie (CH Twin Oak's Joyeaux Noelle).  Flame loves birds and is a strong swimmer. She won a 4th in her sweepstakes class, and made the cut in the competitive Bred By Exhibitor class at both the 2007  and 2008 national specialties, and finished with three 5 pt majors, a BOB win over multiple specials and a Group 3.  Eyes clear.  OFA information (photo courtesy of Liz at Blazingstar)

CH Bertschire Just An Angel JH WCX- Halo is our pick bitch from our Spenser/Caper litter.  She is a nice size, with outstanding movement, lovely coat, pretty head and nice silhouette.  Her greatest strength is her willingness to please.  She's a most entertaining little dog, now working on her Senior Hunter title in the field and absolutely fantastic around the house.  Halo placed 2nd in a large 12-18 months class at the 2008 national specialty, placed 2nd in a large Open bitch class at the 2009 FCRSA national specialty.  She earned her WC and WCX in her first attempt.  Eye exam is normal.  CH Bertschire Ka-Ching JH WC- Nickel is a singleton puppy from our Madison's last breeding.  She could single-handedly solve the energy crisis, as she has enough energy and personality for an entire litter!  Fortunately, Nickel is eager to please and she LOVES to retrieve and swim; the first time she saw a double, it was the day she earned her WC!   She has a pretty silhouette, lovely movement and and very nice head.  At 19 months, Nickel finished easily, winning a puppy Sporting Group 4 and Best of Opposite Sex in the sweepstakes at CRFCRC's annual supported entry under breeder Mary Young (Windfall) along the way.  Eye exam is normal.  OFA information

Victory's Grace Under Fire - Grace was a gift from her breeder, Judy Gladson of Victory Retrievers.  Her dam's side represents some of the best US working lines and her sire's side combines classic Torwood and Braemist lines from England.  Grace is a delightful youngster, demonstrating intensity and focus in the field.  Combined with a pleasing head, strong topline, lovely silhouette and effortless sound movement, we hope that Grace will fit well into our breeding program.  She has earned her first 4 points, after just 2 weekends out in the show ring.  Here she is at 14 months of age.  Eyes clear OFA pending

Starworkers Questions To Be Asked - Quiz was imported from the Starworkers kennel in Denmark.  Pictured at 18 months of age, she has super bone, a lovely head and excellent silhouette, proportions and movement.  Quiz LOVES to retrieve and swims eagerly.  At the 2010 FCRSA national specialty, Quiz won the 6-9 month regular class and after winning Winners Bitch at the CRFCRC supported entry (Nov 2011) has 14 championship points, including both majors. She is co-owned with Cheryl Kistner and Marilyn Wilcox of Kistryl FCRs near Chicago.  Eyes clear   OFA pending
