Adult Dogs For Placement All adult dogs have adoption fees associated with them; the cost of which helps to cover the many expenses involved in transporting and caring for these dogs. The adoption fee varies and depends on the age, health and training of the dogs. For many families, an adult dog can be a pleasure since they can skip the "puppy" stage, along with housebreaking and chewing. For a busy family with children an adult dog can really be the ticket. Please recognize that we are extremely experienced professional dog trainers and that any dogs that have lived in our home are very well trained! Some of these dogs offered for placement have been raised in our home and are not going to be used in our breeding program. In fairness to the dogs and to keep our numbers reasonable so that we can give each dog the training and attention it deserves, those individuals need new homes. Other adult dogs have come from other homes and we do our best to evaluate their health and temperament and training before placement. The rare dog that is truly a "rescue" (neglected or mishandled) is not placed until either completely rehabilitated or, in the case of someone who wants to try such a dog, with full disclosure. All dogs come with an extensive trial period and, if at any time the new owner cannot or does not want to keep the dog, they must be returned to us. As with all of our dogs, these dogs are placed on written contracts. Unless otherwise noted, all dogs for placement are purebred flat coated retrievers. We have a 2 year old male up for placement. Slide is clean and quiet in the house, fully housebroken and crate-trained. He loves to retrieve and swim, has basic obedience training (walks nicely on lead and comes when called) and loves people. He would make an excellent gun dog and a wonderful companion. He adores people and wants to please. He adores female dogs. He has been very recently neutered and we feel strongly that neutering will greatly improve his attitude with other males and puppies. His temperament with people is impeccable. His health is excellent and he has hip, elbow, patella and eyes clearances. Please click here for details. Pictures coming soon. Video of Slide and Chelsea playing in a pool below, as an obedience video of Slide ! We have just gotten a spayed 7 yr old female back from the home where she has lived her whole life. Chelsea is great with other dogs, excellent in the house but may not be good with cats. She has been living the good life and could stand to lose pounds but is otherwise in good health. She is very sweet and personable; we are seeking a home where she can live out her senior years with her own family. Please click here for details on Chelsea . Here is a video of Chelsea and Slide enjoying a refreshing dip in the pool!
The following videos are of Slide showing off his on-leash manners with Donna, an inexperienced handler, and showing his retrieving skills.
